Come to our assistance, O Angels who guard over us, Angels of our families, Angels of our children, Angels of our country, Angels of the Church, and Angels of the universe. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament
by St. Peter Julian Eymard

Virgin Immaculate, perfect lover of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, we ask you to obtain for us the graces we need to become true adorers of our Eucharistic God. Grant us, we beg of you, to know Him better, to love Him more, and to center our lives around the Eucharist, that is, to make our whole life a constant prayer of adoration, thanksgiving, reparation, and petition to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Amen.

Pray for us, O Virgin Immaculate, Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. That the Eucharistic Kingdom of Jesus Christ may come among us!  Amen.

Prayer to Jesus by St. Pio of Pietrelcino*

O my Jesus, give me Your strength when my weak nature rebels against the distress and suffering of this life of exile, and enable me to accept everything with serenity and peace.  With my whole strength I cling to Your merits, Your sufferings, Your expiation, and Your tears, so that I may be able to cooperate with You in the work of salvation.  Give me strength to fly from sin, the only cause of Your agony, Your sweat of blood, and Your death.  Destroy in me all that displeases You and fill my heart with the fire of Your holy love and all Your sufferings.  Clasp me tenderly, firmly, close to You that I may never leave You alone in Your cruel Passion.  I ask only for a place of rest in Your Heart.  My desire is to share in Your agony and be beside You in the Garden.  May my soul be inebriated with Your love and fed with the bread of Your sorrow.
Amen.

Prayer to Mary by St. Pio of Pietrelcino*

Gentle mother of God, full of grace, the door of Heaven that is always open, through you may the eyes of God rest upon us.  In your goodness help the needy.  To those who hesitate, to the little ones, grant your assistance.  Comfort the weak, protect the poor, walk with the abandoned.
May the persecuted find in You consolation, and the persecutors, conversion and forgiveness.  Have mercy on all prisoners; spare them of all despondency of soul and sadness of heart.
Pray for all people; intercede for the Bishops and priests, and for all consecrated souls.  May all those who celebrate your memory rejoice in receiving your assistance.  Lend attentive ear to the prayers of all those who beseech you, and grant them the favor they seek.  Support by your constant intercession the Holy people of God.  Consecrate them in unity and in truth.  May we finally experience, Blessed Mother, the joy which flows from you, who was chosen to bear the price of mankind, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God forever. Amen.

Prayer for a Journey by Bishop Dupanloup of Orleans

Almighty and merciful God, you have commissioned Your angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our careful companions from our setting out until our return;
to clothe us with their invisible protection;
to keep us from all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of falls and bruises;
and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Morning Offering

The Magnificat (from Evening Prayer)

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.
Glory to…

Peace Prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended thee and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend thee, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the holy catholic Church teaches, because in revealing them you can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, make me holy. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, fill me with love. Water from Christ’s side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. Good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds, hide me. Never let me be parted from you. From the evil enemy, protect me. At the hour of my death, call me, and tell me to come to you that with your saints I may praise you through all eternity. Amen.

Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer for the World Meeting Families by Archbishop Chaput

God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Savior, you have made us your sons and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every part of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the  example of the Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Song of Judith – Judith 16:1,13-15

Strike up the instruments,
a song to my God with timbrels,
chant to the Lord with cymbals;
Sing to him a new song,
exalt and acclaim his name.

A new hymn I will sing to my God.
O Lord, great are you and glorious,
wonderful in power and unsurpassable.

Let your every creature serve you;
for you spoke, and they were made,
You sent forth your spirit, and they were created;
no one can resist your word.

The mountains to their bases, and the seas, are shaken;
the rocks, like wax, melt before your glance.
But to those who fear you,
you are very merciful.

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning.
is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Canticle of Zechariah

Blessed be the Lord,
The God of Israel;
He has come to His people and set them free.

He has raised up for us a mighty Savior,
Born of the house of His servant David.

Through His holy prophets He promised of old
That He would save us from our enemies,
From the hands of all who hate us.

He promised to show mercy to our fathers
And to remember His holy Covenant.

This was the oath He swore to our father Abraham:
To set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship Him without fear,
Holy and righteous in His sight
All the days of our life.

You, My child shall be called
The prophet of the Most High,
For you will go before the Lord to prepare His way,
To give his people knowledge of salvation
By the forgiveness of their sins.

In the tender compassion of our Lord
The dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness
And the shadow of death,
And to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning.
is now, and will be forever.

Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who has taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that by the gift of the same Spirit we may be always truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we turn to thee, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To thee we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer us. Amen.

Prayer for Guidance by St. John Paul II

O God, You are our Creator.
You are good and Your mercy knows no bounds.
To You arises the praise of every creature.
O God, You have given us an inner law by which we must live.
To do Your will is our task.
To follow Your ways is to know peace of heart.
To You we offer our homage.
Guide us on all the paths we travel upon this earth.
Free us from all the evil tendencies which lead our hearts away from Your will.
Never allow us to stray from You.
O God, judge of all humankind, help us to be included among Your chosen ones on the last day.
O God, Author of peace and justice, give us true joy and authentic love, and a lasting solidarity among peoples.
Give us Your everlasting gifts. Amen!
(The Pope Speaks 37/4, 1992, 213)

Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas

Grant me grace, O merciful God,
to desire ardently all that is pleasing to Thee,
to examine it prudently,
to acknowledge it truthfully,
and to accomplish it perfectly,
for the praise and glory of Thy name.

Amen.

Psalm 118:2-4

I love you, O LORD, my strength,
LORD, as my rock, my fortress, my deliverer,
My God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
So I shall be saved from my enemies.
Glory to the Father…

A Prayer of Self-Offering by Thomas Merton (From Thoughts in Solitude)

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always, though I may seem lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Ancient Prayer to St. Joseph

Oh St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your divine son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me, and ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Oh, St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen.

Prayer for Divine Assistance by St. Patrick

May the strength of God guide me this day and may His Power preserve me.
May the Wisdom of God instruct me,
The Eye of God watch over me, and the Ear of God hear me.
The Word of God will give sweetness to my speech.
May the hand of God defend me, and may I follow the way of God.

Christ be with me, Christ before me,
Christ be after me, Christ within me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ at my right hand, Christ at my left,
Christ in the front,
Christ in the chariot,
Christ in the ship,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me. Amen.

Suscipe by St. Ignatius of Loyola

Take, Lord, all my liberty,
receive my memory, my understanding, and my whole will,
Whatever I have and possess you have given to me;
and to you I restore it wholly,
and to your will I utterly surrender it for my direction.
Give me the love of you only, with your grace,
and then I am rich enough;
nor do I ask anything besides.

Prayer for Vocations by (then) Bishop Bernard Hebda

Heavenly Father, Your Son told us to ask You to send workers into the harvest.
Bless our beloved Diocese of Gaylord with: holy priests and seminarians who radiate Your love; zealous religious who imitate Your Son’s poverty,
chastity and obedience;
devoted deacons who inspire us to ever greater service; faithful husbands and wives who reflect Christ’s love for His spouse, the Church;
and single men and women who love You above all else.
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel open the hearts of those who have yet to discern their calling to the still whisper of Your voice and the transforming power of Your grace
Send Your Holy Spirit to help us recognize Your will and embrace it in loving trust.
As we each strive to live out our vocation, may our humble efforts proclaim Your greatness and secure this local Church on the firm foundation that is ONLY JESUS!

Prayer for Generosity by St. Ignatius of Loyola

Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for any reward,
save that of knowing that we do your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
